SOVA works with any victim of a crime who comes through the HCSO. SOVA’s works to make contact within 72 hours to insure they are doing well and or if they need resources. Each victim is different, and the needs are as well. Depending on the situation, SOVA will set up referrals for the victim to receive resources that are needed immediately. If SOVA doesn’t have the resources on hand SOVA works to find them as this will reduce the worry and stress of a victim. SOVA’s goal is to be the point of contact between the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office and Community Agencies to provide education, assistance, and resources for victims of crime-specific needs. Collaborating together allows the victims to receive any and all resources available in Hardin County.
